“I’m thinking of having work done on my breasts. What are my options?”

Not happy with the way you look? You can change that.

Basically, there are three main options: augmentation (making things bigger), reduction (making things smaller), and lifting (correcting the sag).

Breast augmentation, more formally known as augmentation mammoplasty, is what most people mean when they think of implants. Once upon a time, that was the only way to get bigger breasts. These days, however, enlarging breasts is more of an art form. It might not even involve implants because fat can be removed from another part of your body and used to make your breasts fuller. (How great is that? Someone’s finally putting that fat to good use.)

Breast reduction surgery, known as reduction mammoplasty, is a procedure used to take away fat and other tissue to make your breasts more proportional to the rest of your body.

A breast lift, or mastopexy, lifts your breasts (makes them perkier) by taking away skin, tightening the skin and recontouring your breasts.
